2018 Thibault Liger-Belair, Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru, 'Aux Charmes' (750ml)

This parcel is situated in the top place of the Charmes Chambertin Terroir call “Aux Charmes” it’s exactly in front of the border between Latricières Chambertin and the Famous Chambertin.

Up-slope, the rocks are of bathonien origin, lower down the marls and limestones belong to the Jurassic (Bajocian) and numerous marine fossils are to be found on the surface, recalling the sea which covered this area some 150 million years ago.

Harvesting is manual with 60% whole clusters.
3 weeks fermentation with a very light extraction.
50% of new oak barrels are used for an aging period of 20 months
